Caravella Backpackers in Cairns provided excellent value for money with a comfortable twin room and minimal noise levels. The staff were incredibly helpful, assisting us in finding a last-minute snorkel tour for the next day. The convenient location allowed for easy access to the reef tour bays, night market, and lagoon pool. Plus, the free parking was a bonus.
The hotel breakfast menu could be improved with a wider variety of options.

The location of the hostel is very convenient, with the main part of the city within walking distance. the staff at the hostel are extremely friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any queries or requests. the rooms are comfortable and the water pressure in the showers is great. There is also a private fridge in each room, providing convenience.
One negative aspect is the lack of outlets in the rooms, which can make it difficult to charge phones and electronics.

It was clean and comfortable. Basic but everything you require. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The A/C was quite noisy, but that is quite common up here.

The hostel staff were exceptional from the minute we arrived till even after we checked out. They helped with booking trips which were advised by them and ended up being a fantastic experience. When on a boat overnight we were allowed to Leave our bags in the room, this was actually free of charge as we had booked a service through them. We had a free meal every night at a local pub aswell in not sure if this offer will still be on but saved us a fortune. All in all a great budget place to stay.

The staff at the front desk were really friendly and helpful, making the check-in process smooth and easy. The location was great, with beautiful views just a short walk away. the rooms and toilets were kept clean and tidy.
There were a few bugs around the premises, which made me uncomfortable as I'm afraid of bugs. It would have been better if this issue was addressed to ensure a more pleasant stay.

Nice location on the waterfront, easy walk to the city and free parking right in front of the door. People are really friendly and helpful. Every room has a refrigerator (and airconditioning?) and there's a nice swimming pool.
Airconditioning was quite noisy.

First off let me tell you that Cairns is a wonderful destination not to be missed. I am 40 years old coming from Wisconsin usa. Never was into the backpacking scene until this trip. Caravella offers dorm rooms, private rooms, and motel rooms at affordable costs. There is a pool, kitchen, and everything you need in an open air compound. There is a mix of young and old from all over the world. Every day I was reminded how small the world is by meeting folks from all over the world and then discovering what things we had in common. Including mutual friends. Never got that much at a traditional hotel. Bagus cafe is also attached to the hotel for those interested in some cafe food with a focus on Indonesia dishes. The owner is a friendly Indonesian whom sees the guests off on tours in the morning and return. A real darling. The place is right on the coast only a 2 minutes walk to down town. All tours can booked via the front desk and you can get picked up at the front door. My wife is Asian and this is a very Asian friendly place. Taiwanese, Chinese, Japanese young adults stay here no problems. Say hello to Ralph, the spirit of the establishment. A very energetic Aussie who really cares about the place and the staff. He runs a tight ship. if you are seeking to party past 11pm then this may not be the best place for you but it by no means is a boring place. Bars are located near by thus any party can be taken outside if after 11:30 pm. Oh, do not be shocked if staff start addressing you by name. rarely got that at a 5 star hotel, but here...possible. Italian speakers - I did not know this but many Aussies come from Italian heritage and still speak the language. you can meet and speak to many aussies in Italian.
I think it closed too early and opened too late. Not a huge deal but so many travelers are seeking help and assistance. Plus the staff are so pleasant to deal with it felt like a little something was missing when they shut down the front desk. The 1130 pm quiet time is a problem for many. Especially for those jetlagged or those wanting to continue but have no money to go outside to other places. There are plenty of places along the beach with cooking and seating stations however some want to stay in the fun atmosphere of the guesthouse. I recommend an area or room that is made for a bit of later get togethers.

Located by the esplanade with easy access to restaurants, cafes, and the ocean. Friendly staff, smooth check-in process, and comfortable beds with a fridge in each room. Enjoyed the clean and spacious atmosphere, and the 24-hour open kitchen. The AC was a much-needed relief in the hot weather.

The shuttle service from the airport, the location to the Esplanade, the meal voucher for the Woolshed, cooking facilities, ample hot water with good water pressure. Very accommodating staff. People respected cerfew hours and I wasn't awoken by anyone making noise.
Room was very spartan.
